Statement from Board of Directors

Hockey Edmonton acknowledges receipt of a request for a special meeting and is currently reviewing it in accordance with the Association’s bylaws.

The Board of Directors will continue to follow the Association’s bylaws in all governance matters. Hockey Edmonton is committed to a fair and democratic process, and the election of the Board of Directors will take place at the upcoming Annual General Meeting on May 28, 2026, where all Members in good standing are entitled to participate and vote. The Board is finalizing the Nominations Committee, which will be announced shortly.

Hockey Edmonton is a member-based organization and recognizes that there are differing perspectives among Member organizations. We remain committed to working through these matters in a respectful and constructive manner.

Hockey Edmonton remains committed to strong governance, transparency, and accountability. Importantly, these matters do not impact player experience or programming. All hockey programs continue to operate as planned, and families can be confident there is no disruption to their child’s hockey experience.

I look forward to completing my elected term as Chair and President at the upcoming AGM and transitioning to the role of past president in a non-voting capacity to support the incoming board during the transition period.

Our priority remains supporting players, families, and the broader hockey community in Edmonton through high-quality programming and responsible stewardship of the Association.

As these matters are ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment further on specific details at this time.

Will Jang
Chair and President, Hockey Edmonton
