Governance Update, Transparency, and Annual General Meeting – May 27, 2026

Dear Members, Parents, Players, Coaches, and Volunteers,

Hockey Edmonton exists to provide sound governance and consistent oversight for minor hockey across Edmonton. We are committed to transparency, collaboration, and decisions rooted in our Bylaws.

Recent communications outside official channels have created questions. Our silence to date has not been acceptance of any narrative — it has been prudent governance. The Board needed time to address all matters collectively and effectively under our Bylaws. The Board has exercised its authority to address these matters in a structured, fair, and Bylaw-compliant manner. All governance issues are now being handled strictly in accordance with our Bylaws, Policies and deference to Hockey Alberta.

We are proactively releasing the last two fiscal years’ audited financial statements prepared by Givens LLP, Chartered Professional Accountants. Members in good standing may submit clarifying questions in writing no later than 21 days prior to the AGM.

The Annual General Meeting on May 27, 2026 is the proper democratic forum for governance decisions, Board elections, and bylaw considerations. This gives every Member in good standing an equal voice and the opportunity for a positive fresh start.

Hockey operations continue uninterrupted. We thank you for your support and ask that all future communications flow through official Hockey Edmonton channels. Working together with mutual respect, we will continue strengthening the game for our children. Our priority is, and always will be, the players and the game.
