Hockey Edmonton Athletes Selected to 2026 Alberta Cup and Alberta Challenge

Hockey Edmonton is proud to celebrate the selection of 22 athletes who have been named to the 2026 Alberta Cup and Alberta Challenge rosters, marking an exciting milestone in their hockey journeys.

Alberta Cup

Seven Hockey Edmonton players have earned spots at the 2026 Alberta Cup, where they will represent their regions from April 23–26 in Red Deer. Selected among the top 120 athletes across the province, these players will compete in a high-performance environment that serves as a key step in the pathway toward Team Alberta and the 2027 Canada Winter Games. Hockey Edmonton will be cheering them on as they proudly represent Team Grey and Team Gold.

Alberta Challenge

Fifteen Hockey Edmonton athletes have been selected to the 2026 Alberta Challenge. Taking place April 30 to May 3 at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre in Red Deer, the Alberta Challenge brings together the province’s top female athletes for a modified round-robin tournament. As the sole female-only event within the Spring Showcase, it serves as an introduction to the Team Alberta Program, providing participants with their first experience in a high-performance, short-term competition environment. Hockey Edmonton is proud to support these athletes as they represent Team Blue and Team Red.
